Successful Weekend for Young Horse Academy Combinations!

It was a fantastic weekend for the talented young horses and their riders representing The Howden Way Young Horse Academy this weekend.

The depth of talent within the Young Horse Academy was obvious for all to see at both Burgham International Horse Trials and Dauntsey Park Horse Trials over the past few days.

At Burgham International in the CCI3-S Young Rider Final Trial*, our 8-year-olds truly impressed with Greannanstown Monbeg Joe and Finn Healey finished in 3rd position after an outstanding performance saw them stay on their dressage score of 28.6.  Milly Ashherton and Illexa also produced a brilliant double clear whilst Tyler Cassell and D. Murray VDL Z also delivered a strong double clear in the 3* rounding off a fantastic showing from our 8 year-old horses.

In the CCI2-S*, our 6-year-old combinations also showed great form with Lucy Robinson and Theodore Mail securing a 7th place finish whilst  Holly Richardson and Orson posted a double clear, highlighting their exciting potential.

At Dauntsey, Sam Gillespie and 6-year-old La Belle Au Bois delivered a stunning performance, scoring 19.8 in the dressage and adding just a couple of time penalties to win the Novice.

Justine Parker, Programme Director for The Howden Way said "It’s been incredibly exciting to watch the progress of these talented young combinations throughout the season as we build towards the Young Horse Championship classes in September. The future is certainly looking very bright!"
