Rider Talent Academy

Rider Talent Academy

The Howden Way Talent Rider Academy supports riders aged 14 – 28 years, competing within the British Eventing framework, with top class training and education as they transition through the age groups and into senior competition. The purpose, working collaboratively with British Eventing, is to nurture and develop the next generation of talent enabling them to reach their full potential.

Equine and rider welfare is at the forefront of the activities supporting those within the sport of eventing and everything The Howden Way represents.

Education and On-Hand Support

Education and On-Hand Support

The Rider Talent Academy provides a comprehensive pathway via the delivery of camps and training sessions in addition to giving athletes remote access to support and online resources alongside on-hand support at competition.

The Howden Way, lead by Programme Director Justine Parker, work alongside all the riders and their horses with their team of coaches and expert practitioners in addition to Darrell Scaife, Head of Youth at British Eventing so that we can continue to support, educate and help develop these young athletes.

Each annual cohort of riders accept their place within the Academy based on them reaching the required age group performance criteria in the previous season.

In addition to the education and support the riders receive on the programme is the opportunity to learn from other more senior rider on the programme and the networking benefits it can bring them.
