At The Howden Way we place the highest importance on Safeguarding to ensure that all children, young people and adults at risk are safeguarded from abuse and have an enjoyable experience on our programmes.

Everyone who is involved in equestrian sport shares the responsibility for safeguarding, and The Howden Way works with British Equestrian to operate within an accepted ethical framework to protect children, young people and adults at risk from harm, abuse and degrading treatment whilst participating in equestrian sports and activities.

The Howden Way adopts the British Equestrian safeguarding policies which can be found below.

Reporting a concern

If you would like to report a concern regarding a safeguarding issue within The Howden Way programmes you can contact our designated safeguarding officer;
