The stunning parkland setting of Cirencester Park delivered another challenging track across all levels, testing both horse and rider this weekend. Riders and horses from The Howden Way Young Horse and Rider Academies rose to the occasion, securing top placings and demonstrating the strength of early-season form.
From the Young Horse Academy, Wolk, the 8-year-old AES bred chestnut gelding owned and ridden by Amelia Winter, continued his remarkable consistency, producing his fourth consecutive double clear this season. They claimed 9th place in Intermediate Section F, adding just 4.4 cross-country time penalties to finish on 36.5. Meanwhile, Theodore Mail, a 6-year-old grey gelding by Jaguar Mail, maintained his flawless record with another double clear. Piloted by Lucy Robinson and owned by Andrew and Heather Headley, Theodore Mail secured another top 10 finish by placing 8th on his dressage score of 33.0 in the 6yo class.
In the OIu21 section, Young Rider Anya Strilkowski impressed with a commanding win, leading from start to finish aboard her 10-year-old gelding K. On his first outing of the season, the pair won on their exceptional dressage score of 26.4. Adding to the Academy success, Young Rider Joshua Levett delivered a brilliant double clear inside the time the Advanced section T, finishing 8th on 36.4 aboard Diarana DH Z, owned by Elisabeth Murdoch, against tough, top-class competition.
Meanwhile in Scotland, Pony Rider Maisie Greening produced an accomplished performance at Forgandenny, taking the win in the ONu18 class with her pony Kilnaspic Lily. The pair impressed with a superb dressage score of 27.8 and a clear cross-country round to secure the top spot.
