Burnham Market International delivered a weekend of glorious sunshine and standout performances for the Rider Talent Academy, with several of our riders producing impressive results across a range of competitive sections.
Junior rider Coco Lanni set the pace early, securing a commanding victory in the ONu18 section aboard her talented partner, Porsche. The duo led from the outset with an exceptional dressage score of 26.3, followed by a superb double clear, adding just 1.6 XC time penalties. Their dominant performance saw them finish nearly nine points ahead of the runner-up, continuing an outstanding season for Coco as she aims for Junior team selection. Reflecting on her progress, Coco shared:
“I feel very lucky to be on The Howden Way Training. It has given me access to some fantastic coaching—particularly on test riding practice with feedback, which I’ve been able to use in my competitions. It’s also helped me improve my cross-country riding techniques, especially around balance with Porsche and working on my body position to maximise my effectiveness as a rider.”
In the OIu21 section, Isabelle Cook impressed with a leading dressage score of 23.4 on the 11-year-old gelding, Espoir Landais. The pair rolled a single pole show jumping and added a few XC time faults to secure 2nd place, marking another strong result for Isabelle this season.
Fellow Young Rider, Elizabeth Barratt, also made her mark, finishing 7th in the highly competitive CCI-S 3* class with Georgina W, her 10-year-old mare. The pair delivered faultless jumping phases, adding only 0.8 XC time penalties to their dressage score, ending on a final mark of 34.4.
In the CCI-S 4* section, Alice Casburn and her seasoned campaigner Topspin produced a stellar performance as they fine-tune preparations ahead of Badminton in May. With a solid dressage score of 32.3 and a brilliant double clear, the pair finished 5th in a strong field packed with numerous Badminton-bound combinations.
Congratulations to all our riders for a weekend of top-class performances and continued consistency at this key spring fixture. We’re excited to see what’s next as the season progresses.
Thank you to our Academy partners Dodson & Horrell, Enduro and Unibed for their support.
