HORSEQUEST TO PARTNER THE THOROUGHBRED AFTERCARE PROGRAMME

The Howden Way Thoroughbred Aftercare Programme (TAP) is delighted to announce Horsequest as their official Classifieds Partner.

As the leading equine sales website in the UK, HorseQuest offers both buyers and sellers an extensive, easy to use online marketplace for all things equestrian.  Thousands of ex-racehorses are sold though HorseQuest each year, all of which can be found within seconds via their dedicated ex-racehorses category.

Maria Haig, Head of Marketing and Communications for The Howden Way said  “HorseQuest were always going to be our partner of choice and we couldn’t  have been happier when they embraced TAP in the way that they did.  In addition to being an extensive sales platform for anyone wishing to source or sell a thoroughbred, HorseQuest will be offering our partner charities that retrain racehorses free listings as a way of supporting them.  Members who have signed up to our free online training hub will also benefit from the partnership by the offer of a member discount for any thoroughbred they may wish to list.”

About the partnership, Programme Director Justine Parker said “Our objective is to support as many thoroughbred horses, that were bred for racing, during their transition so that they can be as seamlessly equipped as possible for their new lives ahead of them. Being able to point potential owners and riders to a dedicated page offering thoroughbreds for sale is a great step forward for us. In doing so it will allow us to follow their pathway into that of a riding horse and ensure their new owners are aware of everything we can offer them from free online guidance and advice through to subsidised regional training via one of our carefully selected top level coaches.”

Alison Roeves from HorseQuest said "This partnership is an exciting step forward in supporting ex-racehorses and their future owners. These horses have so much to offer beyond the track, and with the right training, education, and support, they can thrive in rewarding second careers.  With thousands of ex-racehorses listed on HorseQuest annually, having TAP as a trusted resource to point buyers to will be invaluable."

Information on the Thoroughbred Aftercare Programme can be found here with a sign-up process to access exclusive training content and videos being available imminently.  Subsidised regional training is available to anyone with a Thoroughbred who would like to come along. Each training day will offer varying sessions across them to allow for horses at various stages of their transition. Sessions include flatwork, poles, jumping and cross-country sessions, and cover all levels from those just starting their retraining journey through to those already out competing within the disciplines.
